Ravine Days - Thorncliffe Park to OSC

This event has already taken place.

Ravine Days Walk with Save Ontario's Science Centre and Thorncliffe Park Urban Farmers

Did you know that E.T. Seton Park was created as part of Ontario's Centennial Celebration along with the Ontario Science Centre? How about  the site of a former ski jump? Or a 25' foot high dam with a 30 acre pond that is no longer there?

Join Save OSC and TPUF on Saturday, October 11th as we hike from the urban environment of Thorncliffe Park down into the historic West Don ravine and around the natural beauty of the OSC lands. Our narratives will touch on First Nations history in the area, to how the land was settled during colonial times and beyond, including a story of the Underground Railroad. Timber, agriculture and industry leading to the urbanization of the area, with a focus on some of the present community's challenges and opportunities.

Our walk begins at the entrance to E.T. Seton Park (73 Thorncliffe Park Drive) and continues through the ravine around the OSC lands.
Participants can exit the ravine near the Ontario Science Centre or continue back to the start with us.
